Why some perfumes last longer
Longevity mainly depends on the base notes. Woods (oud, sandalwood, vetiver), amber, vanilla, patchouli and resins evaporate slowly: they are what you still smell at the end of the day. Citrus and fresh notes, on the other hand, fade faster.
Skin plays a role too. Moisturised skin holds perfume better: apply it after an unscented cream, on warm areas (neck, wrists, nape), and do not rub.
